What does your marketing karma say about you?

According to Wikipedia, Karma is the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in. Destiny or fate, following as effect from cause.

Most of us are taught the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” This can be directly related to the core of marketing. Your ability to successfully market yourself, service, or product, you have to be perceived as trustworthy and easily connect with your audience. What better way to accomplish this than to practice good karma marketing?

I believe that our first instinct is to be selfish and try to set yourself above the pack by not sharing information, or not offering what’s really best for the customer but what benefits you or your service. When actually the opposite is true. The more your friends, customers, and the public look to you as a trusted advisor or expert, you will gain more business while also helping other businesses along the way.

Creating your good marketing karma can be a great way to learn about yourself and how you are perceived by your friends, customers, and the public.
